On 20 March 2019, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority and the European Banking Authority announced they had agreed a memorandum of understanding covering topics like information sharing and supervisory co-operation if there’s a ‘no deal’ Brexit.
European Banking Authority launches its central electronic register under the Payment Services Directive II
On 18 March 2019, the European Banking Authority (the EBA) launched its central electronic register under the Payment Services Directive II. The register (which you can access by clicking here) provides information on all payment services and electronic money instutitions in the EU. The register can be accessed free of charge.
At the moment, firms registered with the Financial Conduct Authority appear on the EBA’s register.
FCA publishes thematic review on debt management sector
The FCA has today published its thematic review on the debt management sector, TR 19/1. The FCA has found that most customers are getting better advice and better outcomes. However, there is still work to do for some firms (and two smaller firms have “unacceptably poor standards and practices”).
